The previous reviewer had it spot on. I previously purchased this cheezy wire basket POS that broke after a year or two. I purchased this item to replace it, and I'm wishing I went to this one first. It's well designed and made of better materials, it mounts rock solid on the bike, and is large enough to hold any size of water bottle available, or if you prefer, an insulated thermos. There are additional mounts for GPS systems available to work with this, too. If you're a tourer and need a cup holder, look no further.

This is not my first Ram-Mount Cup Holder, but my second. My first one went with my old motorcycle when I traded up to a big Harley-Davidson Ultra-Classic.
Like the first one, this is just as tough as the first and sports features that allow you to securly hold your cup or drink can in place during rides.
The Ram Cup Holder, unlike others is removable when not being used leaving behind the small ball mount that is attached by a u-bolt to the handle bars.
The u-bolt of this model can fit up to one inch in diameter bars.

I should have bought the RAM system first for my drink cup. I purchased another chrome fancy model for my motorcycle and lost the cup holder within 20 miles of home. I have two other RAM mount systems on my motorcycle and am very happy with this product and cannot find a way to lose the cup holder on this system. I highly recommend this for those on bicycles or motorcycles taking trips where hydration is a must.
