Conceived with the toughest terrains and situations in mind, the Superwinch 1145220 Terra 45 UTV winch delivers on the promise to haul you out of any tight spot you may end up in. Designed to be compatible with most four-bolt pattern ATV winch mount kits available on the market today, the Terra 45 is a fit for virtually any utility vehicle you ride. Along with a hefty 4,500-LB line pull rating via 55-feet of 1/4" steel wire rope and a 1.6 hp weather-sealed permanent magnet motor powered by an easy to establish permanent connection to your vehicle battery, the Terra 45 features the power and reliability of a heavy-duty all-metal 3-stage planetary gear train. Unlike planetary gears used by competitors, its rugged all steel gears are twice as wide as those used by the competition and utilize machined-in, oil pocket bronze bearings guaranteeing smooth, uncompromised movement for years to come, no matter the weather conditions. Additional features include, a handlebar mounted switch, an ergonomic cam action freespooling clutch allowing users to quickly disengage the motor and manually draw out as much winch rope as needed, at any time, a four-way roller fairlead (mounting plate sold separately), a heavy duty latched hook with thimble and a limited lifetime warranty. As with all Superwinch products, safety is an important consideration of the Terra winch series. With this in mind the Terra 45 contains a wealth of valuable safety features standard. These include mechanical load holding and dynamic braking to minimize the possibility of wire rope slippage in the event of power failure or surge, and to provide quick stopping of the drum; a sealed solenoid and circuit breaker protection to ensure safe, reliable, electromagnetic power in all weather conditions; and a rubberized remote switch with a 10-foot extension cable, allowing for safe distances and positioning between the user and winch during off vehicle use. I purchased this new Terra 45 Winch from Amazon for an unbeleivable $211.99 and it has far exceeded my expectations. I am using it as a utility winch on my car trailer to haul Jeeps and other vehicles. The motor sounds great, and the construction is much more rugged than the entry level Chinese winches (which this is replacing). It has plenty of power and the release mechanism is easy to operate.
I highly reccomend this winch!
